Jardines' involvement in Hong Kong aviation began in 1946, then known as Jardine Airways. Our first client was BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) the former British Airways. We began as a representative for BOAC, providing them with a sales agency and customized airport services at the Kai Tak Airport (Hong Kong's former international airport). Since then we haven't looked back.

Though times have changed, our status remains the same as a cornerstone of Hong Kong's aviation industry. British Airways remains a client today after six decades and our growing portfolio of over 50 other airlines speaks volumes about our company.

In 1988, Jardine Airways was restructured and Jardine Airport Services Limited (JASL) was formed as a joint venture between Jardine Matheson Group and China National Aviation Company (CNAC) to offer a complete range of ground handling services such as passenger and flight operations, load control, and cargo services at the airport.

Subsequently, in 1998, JASL moved its operations to the new Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok, and this saw the birth of Jardine Air Terminal Services Limited (JATS). JATS was established as a subsidiary of JASL and was awarded a franchise by the Airport Authority Hong Kong to provide aircraft ramp and baggage handling services at the new airport.

JATS' services can quickly and seamlessly be integrated with JASL's when needed. JATS brings together the co-operation of parties based in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, the United States and Continental Europe. Shareholders are JASL, China Airlines, United Airlines and Servisair, this ensures a strong business base and contributes to a valuable aviation experience.
